Evidently my ego was fragile yesterday and needed some propping up…
Emma and I both had a good time at the dentist.
The dental hygienist who cleaned Emma’s teeth told her “Usually we let mom’s sit right here and wait while we clean your teeth!”
And Emma looked over at me and said “You sit right there mom!”
So I did.
And less than 30 minutes later she came back out and got me- Emma was done and the dentist wanted to go over a couple of things with me.
*Emma was VERY friendly and VERY cooperative.
*”She is a very self confident young lady, and obviously very intelligent.”
*Not a problem to be found, Mom, I can tell you help brush those teeth everyday!
* Her adult teeth look very well formed, but it will be another year before they start to come in.

So my daughters teeth are perfect. WOO HOO for me. I was so proud?
I am a freak. And some days I guess I’ll take whatever credit anyone wants to give me for this sometimes REALLY tough but wonderful job.
Honestly though? I have to admit its probably genetics- I have the worlds hardest enamel. And yes, I do help her brush every day, its true.

She will eventually need braces… But I knew that. And the dentist says she has a petite mouth and rather large adult teeth lurking up there…. So there may be crowding issues later on- but her teeth themselves are lovely
And the price for a cleaning, exam, fluoride treatment and 4 xrays? 199.
I think Brian and I need to get married like yesterday so we’d have some insurance…

So yesterday I got to feel like I was doing something right. And I enjoyed it.

So Emma goes to the Dentist for her very first appointment tomorrow. I brush her teeth for her and they look lovely to me, so I don’t foresee any problems. (Other than the fact that she’ll need braces in 8 or so years)

So here is the bet.
Under the financial terms of our divorce – I pay 51% and he pays 49%
How long do you think it will take him to pay me back? I think I’ll post a poll later on, but I’m guessing at least 3 months and one trip to court.

Let me preface this by saying I’ve already had one. And it was delicious.

Brian is fishing and I miss him dreadfully. Emma was in tears because really? The 10 hugs and kisses Brian gave her before he left are simply not enough and how is she supposed to sleep without hugs and kisses from her Daddy Brian NOW?

I snuggled her to sleep, since when he’s gone she sleeps in with me, with the door locked and the gun quite handy. I never thought I’d be the type…

But I wasn’t ready to sleep. I’ve had quite the busy week and was just kinda fried. So I made one earlier to help me relax and then I figured what the hell? I kinda promised.

SO.
Get yourself a nice clean TALL glass. I don’t have fancy shmancy barware yet. I favor Pom tea glasses. Put on U2′s Original of the Species while you do the following steps.

You may notice in the back ground the lovely flowers Brian gave me on Wednesday, when I was having a bad day. He makes me smile.

This is pineapple mint which I have a little pot growing on my deck. I brought it in for tonight though. Its quite pretty with white and green stripes. And a pleasant pineappley flavor. Go figure, eh?

Take some mint, put it in the glass with some sugar:) I like a lot of sugar!

MMMM. Mint and sugar…..
NOW SMUSH it up REALLY GOOD! The handle of a wooden spoon works just fine for this. You want the mint to release its minty goodness into the sugar.
Like SO!

Now add some lime juice. I like lime juice- this is key lime juice I bought to make a pie.
That would be the damned pie that made me gain 2 lbs back.
Damn pie.

and go and find your rum.

I use coconut rum, cause I love coconut. This is not expensive rum for I is kinda poor right now. Tastes the same as Bacardi though, really.
Resist the urge to get friendly with your rum.

Better things come from waiting! I PROMISE!

Add the rum to your carefully prepared glass!

Or you could just dump in half the bottle too. That TOTALLY WORKS!

Now add some club soda!

Now go back to your mint plant! You need a sprig of mint to garnish your glass!

I bawled my eyes out at the end of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”.
SOBBED.
And I feel in the mood to do it again.

So today I eat at Baja Fresh for lunch. And I get a taco and a side salad.
Usually I get the fat free salsa verde as a salad dressing which they claim is mild but is actually pretty spicy. I like spicy stuff!
Anyway.
I’m filling up my little container with cilantro cause I LOVE the stuff when I see a lovely salsa I haven’t tried. It doesn’t have “Mild” or “Medium” or “Hot” written underneath it, it just has its name which I interpret as “nothing to worry about, so mild we don’t even bother rating it.”
Well, its obvious my interpretation was wrong because I loaded up a chip and delivered it to my eager mouth only to have my lips and tongue BURNED OFF.
It had a lovely flavor, really. It was just F****** HOT.
But then after a minute I’m all “that wasn’t so hot and it had a lovely flavor! I’ll use it as salad dressing too!” And I put it on my salad!
(the light bulbs, how they flash! I AM BRILLIANT!)
I ate most of my salad.
My tongue was burning the whole time and I couldn’t actually TASTE anything and I was actually physically SWEATING. But it was good.

So yesterday we left the ransom note for Terry. She laughs and laughs.
And wonders where the stuffed pig was.
And then we send her this picture:

This morning she received this picture.
The current ransom says “margaritas or the plant gets snuffed”
