Pictures of the Birthday

Of which there are 4. I ran out of batteries!

Curled her hair so she could be “beautiful” :)

The Enchanted Cake. I didn’t put the figure on because Emma wanted to play with her.

She opened the easy bake oven! WOOT!
The other pic from that night was another of the cake and its blurry.
She got her ears pierced on Tuesday too!

I took this tonight, trying to take a pic of her ears :)

I’m afraid this is as good as I could get:)
They are pink daisies!

Doesn’t she have dainty ears?

On Brian

Yesterday Emma got her ears pierced and he didn’t want to watch. Or maybe he didn’t want to wait. I can’t imagine a hell more profound for Brian than a noisy teenage accessory store.
We found him, later, looking at rings. He’d picked 3 out that he said I’d like. He told the salesperson the order that I’d like them in and he was right. She was impressed.

For what ever reason I am carrying a lot of hurt around for the last couple of weeks- none of it caused by him. I want life to move on and we are caught in a holding pattern in a bad place. I want to have the date set for the day we marry each other. I want to think about weddings and babies.

The fact that he looked up pleased and guiltily when we walked in was a balm to me- He doesn’t talk about the dreams that are on hold, so sometimes I forget that he dreams them too. I enjoyed a tangible reminder that somewhere soon there is a future for us.

I’m not perfect. And he isn’t either.
We both know how to say I’m sorry.
We argue about stupid shit.
At the beginning of the day we are partners.
At the end of the day we are partners.
We are family.
I hadn’t forgotten, exactly, that I’m not alone in this, but I’m very grateful for the reminder.

Snow!

Ya, so it was snowing yesterday.
The grass turned white.

5 years ago Emma was born and it was NOT snowing when I was in labor with her.
I think it was still pretty warm, actually.

Brian told Emma that God sent the snow to make her birthday beautiful.

Something beautiful

Melissa wrote one of the most heart wrenching things I've ever read.
You should go read it.
You'll be sad and uplifted and angry and grateful all at the same time.
At least… I was.

Day three of cleanse=
Still feel sick.
Not the cleanses fault.
Possibly actually feeling a little better.
Not blowing my nose every minute now, its more like 10 minutes to 30 minutes in between :)
Ate brown rice and almonds for breakfast.
Eating leftover soup from last night for lunch.
My biggest hurdle thus far is snack food. I need to buy some snack food (other than almonds- I’m bored with them!)

Warhammer Age of Reckoning vs World of Warcraft Style

Brian and I are taking a break from WoW cause we are busy paying for an attorney right now. But we are thinking of taking up Warhammer when we go back to gaming… I totally miss playing…

Here is the screen shot of my fav character from WoW…

she kicked ass.

Vegetable bean soup. Tasty. I think.
Emma ate 2 bowls.

Mini pizzas. Contains gluten, animal products and high frutose corn syrup. Brian assures me they were delicious.

Brian and Emma being themselves. Sometimes they slay me with their cuteness.

Brian brought me home puffs with lotion in them. And chamomile tea.
And he still loves me even though my nose is red and pealing.

Diets and whatnot

So Dooce, a couple of months ago, read Quantum Wellness and blogged about the cleanse she was doing.
I finally purchased a copy and I'm half done with it.  I'm doing the no alcohol/sugar/gluten/animal products/caffeine cleanse, starting today.  I'm seriously thinking about never eating animal products again.
I've been eating baked potatoes for lunch and I wasn't sure what I was going to put on it… I thought I'd miss the butter and sour cream but I didn't.  I put balsamic vinaigrette on it and it was delicious!
And I'm already sick with a cold, so I figured why wait?
