In other news

I spent last week sick.  REALLY sick.  I only missed a day and a half of work, but I was really sick!   I feel human this week.  Yeah!

Friday was my birthday and I worked.  I managed to eat.  And then I laid on my in law’s bed while Brian watched the BSU game.  And I was totally cool with that.  It was what I wanted to do. I only wanted to do something that involved me not moving.

But I came home that night to find out I had WON SOMETHINGSomething lovely!  Something I really really wanted!  And I won it on my birthday!  WEEEEEE! Many thanks to Alexa whom I adore and also to Tania who’s wicked creative genius is behind all of this! Thank you so much!

And now I just have to decide what I want on it!  CHOICES!

When tea ceased being my friend

My body and I have had an understanding since I was about twelve that when I was sick I wouldn’t puke.

I threw up at least twice a day when I was pregnant, but I was totally cool with that. I got a baby out of that deal.

Yesterday at about 1 in the morning my body threw  a perfectly good 18 year contract OUT the window. And I spent the rest of the night completely ill.  Even chamomile tea was killing me to drink. I woke up about 5:30 from a cat nap and crawled to the bathroom, waking Brian in the process who then went to a convenience store and bought me Gatorade, which might have saved my life. I took Emma to daycare, went to work long enough to process a credit card and send a direct deposit for a client and then went home and slept for the rest of the day.

I called my Dr, who I really like and they said (well, the nurse:):) “Yup! Probably H1N1.  We don’t want to see you unless you need an I.V.!  Or you can’t breathe!” Comforting, what?

Today I’m better except for a dry cough and sore stomach muscles.  I even feel a little bit hungry.

I’m alive! Yeah!  I can totally see why this bug is SO bad for small children.   Thank God Emma got the immunization is all I can say!
